Course Selection for the Upcoming School Year

Congratulations on accepting your offer! Here at King's University College, we want to make sure our students are feeling supported and adequately informed on their next steps. To do this, we provide all incoming students with a mandatory academic advising appointment.

To book your appointment with us, please find the booking link to book your Summer Academic Orientation (SAO) appointment located in your offer of admission letter.

OWL, your first-year guide

Prior to attending your academic advising appointment, we will add you onto our online New Student Hub website on OWL. Here you'll find a plethora of resources and training materials available to you for the entirety of your first year which discuss a range of topics, including:

  • how to get involved on campus
  • academic requirements and regulations
  • career readiness
  • advice from current students
  • support services on campus (i.e., accessibility, Campus Ministry, personal counselling, etc.)
  • and much more!

Please make sure that you look through the site prior to your academic advising appointment. That way, if you have any questions regarding content found on the site, you're able to ask us at your appointment for any clarification.

Benefits of meeting one-on-one with an academic advisor

At your academic advising appointment, this is where you're able to meet one-on-one with one of our wonderful academic advisors to learn how to pick and choose the correct courses — not only for your program, but also for breadth and graduation requirements.

The objective of the academic advising appointment is to educate new students on how to choose and enroll in your classes so you're able to do so independently in subsequent years. That being said, we do still offer optional academic advising appointments for students in their upper years, so if you'd like to meet with our advising team after your first year, that's not a problem — we're always happy to help!

Before booking your academic advising appointment (SAO), please make sure that you:

Wishing you all a wonderful summer and we look forward to seeing you at King's UC soon!
